Volunteering

Join us to do meaningful volunteer work in African Care’s welfare activities! As a volunteer, you will support the integration and inclusion of immigrant women and be part of a wonderful team at African Care where we value everyone’s contribution. Arabic, Somali or Farsi language skills are useful, but not essential – groups work in plain Finnish! Volunteers are especially needed for the Homework Club and the Women’s Club. Learn more about the volunteer positions below.
Homework Club
Thuesday 15:00 – 17:00
The purpose of the group is to provide support for immigrant women in schoolwork and Finnish language homework. It is an excellent opportunity for volunteers to meet new people and support the studies of immigrant women. You are not required to have any special skills, but above all a willingness to help and a couple of hours of your time.
Women’s Club
Thursday 14:00 – 16:00
Do you have a hobby or special knowledge that you would like to share? In the Women’s Club, you can volunteer to help with cooking, exercise or crafts. Our volunteers have also given presentations and shared information on relevant topics, such as elections and voting.
Interested? Feel free to contact Emmi Lundán, our welfare coordinator, at emmi.lundan@africancare.fi or 050 378 5660 and let us know what kind of volunteering you would like to do!
