HYRR\u00c4 strengthens the well-being of immigrant women and their families through peer groups. The groups in East Helsinki reach women from a wide range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Support is given to those who are in vulnerable situations, such as those outside the labour market, those without literacy skills or parents of young children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The groups are open to all women with an immigrant background. The groups meet at African care&#8217;s premises in Itis shopping centre and are held in plain Finnish with the support of peer instructors. Babysitters are present to play with the children in all groups except the women&#8217;s homework club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #acc74a;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Monday<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>AILA group<\/strong> 12:00 &#8211; 14:30<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Aila group provides an opportunity to discuss topics related to the well-being of women, mothers and families. Visiting experts share information with the group members, for example about the service, organisation or other expertise they represent. A light lunch will be served.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #acc74a;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Thuesday<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Women\u2019s Homework Club <\/strong>15:00 &#8211; 17:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a club where immigrant women get help with their own studies with the help of volunteers. At the same time, the volunteers will have the opportunity to do concrete volunteer work and get to know the work of the organisation!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Women&#8217;s Homework Club is for adults only and there is no babysitter. Please do not bring children to the Women&#8217;s Homework Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Advisory service<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By appointment, we offer our clients free-of-charge counselling on a range of everyday and well-being issues. We can help with issues such as studies, work, housing and social security. Counselling is available in Somali, Finnish and English (NOTE: We do not provide advice on Immigration matters).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can book an appointment by calling 050 3788 588.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #acc74a;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Wednesday<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ILONA group<\/strong> 11:00 &#8211; 12:30<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wednesdays are for exercise! This group provides a safe environment for immigrant women to participate in low-threshold exercise classes. For example, you can learn new sports and exercise with other women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #acc74a;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Thursday<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thursdays Tea Time &#8211; Courage to speak Finnish with Hanna<\/strong> 10:00 &#8211; 12:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Developing language skills requires the use of the language. In Thursday Tea Time, immigrant women can strengthen their Finnish language skills under the guidance of our lovely volunteer Hanna.The activity consists of a relaxed, but guided, conversations on a variety of topics. There is no childcare, but young children are welcome to join in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Note<\/span>! This is not a language course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s Club<\/strong> 14:00 -16:00<br>The Women&#8217;s Club offers a wide range of activities! The club is run by African Care volunteers and immigrant women who lead weekly activities such as cooking, exercise and crafts. A light lunch is provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #acc74a;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Friday<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Meeting Point Caf\u00e9<\/strong> from 13:00 &#8211; 15:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meeting Point Caf\u00e9 is a relaxed meeting place open to all women, with the aim of meeting new people from different backgrounds while strengthening their Finnish language skills. It is also an opportunity to learn more about Finland as well as many other countries and cultures! The aim is also to relax, play games and have fun together. A light snack will be served.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Other activities&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #acc74a;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Saturday<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s swimming group<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A group for women to swim and do water exercises in Myllypuro. The price of the swimming group is 40 euros \/ 10 times.
