FINNISH LANGUAGE COURSES for stay-at-home parents
- These courses are suitable for you if
- • you live in Helsinki
- • you take care of your child at home
- • your child is under 3 years old
- • you would like to learn Finnish
You may take your children under 3 years old with you, a qualified nanny will look after your children whilst you attend your lesson.
The courses and the childcare service are both free of charge. There are four different levels of courses:
Reading and writing skills – 2.5 hours, twice a week
Beginners’ course – 2.5 hours, twice a week
Advanced course – 2.5 hours, twice a week
Intensive course – 2.5 hours, four times a week
All applicants’ Finnish skills will be assessed before the courses start. The appropriate course level is determined according to these test results.
The courses are organized by Stadin aikuisopisto
The courses take place in different locations in Helsinki. They started in January 2017. You can still start the course if there is space.
