Homework Club is an after-school program where Finnish senior volunteers provide homework assistance to primary school students. The club’s objective is to improve students’ school performance and to support cross-generational interaction between Finnish seniors and children. Homework Club is designed for immigrant students whose parents may not have resources to help their children, for instance, with their Finnish language homework. However, the club is open to all primary school students in the area.

During spring 2017, Homework Club meets twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1-3 PM in African Care’s Meri-Rastila facilities (Meri-Rastilan kuja 2 B).

For more information on Homework Club and on how to become a volunteer, please do not hesitate to contact coordinator Arla Kaukua (name.surname(at)africancare.fi / 050 3780 252).
